thank you I was touched
Thank you, Lidia
When I was standing in line in the supermarket with what appeared to be the entire town, a woman turned and said, “You would think no one had any food at home.” Yes, we were all preparing for the big “What if?”…But you managed to think about it from such a beautiful space of spirituality and the prose.
As for me, when I left the supermarket loaded down with provisions, I thought, “Shoot, I should have bought more of those energy packed foods that the fellow who traveled around the world in a small craft brought with him.” I was less philosophical and more provisions minded.
And then of course, I couldn’t help thinking about the lyrics to the old Weavers’ song, Goodnight Irene.
Sometimes I live in the country
Sometimes I live in town
Sometimes I take a great notion
To jump into the river and drown…
But usually I have a great notion to reluctantly join the line of provision seekers and then read Parabola for the provisions that really matter. :)
Thank you, Elizabeth. I’m impressed that you know the lyrics to “Goodnight Irene,” and that it was sung by the Weavers.
Be safe all.
All my good wishes (and prayers) for your safety and that of all!
Be careful and stay well everyone.
The calmness that prevails within the storm is an awakening all of it’s on.
A four times Hurricane survivor…..Actually it brought the entire town
closer..
Peace
Tom
